Semiconductor Equipment Field Service: 2026 Benchmarks and the Downtime Economics

Every hour a semiconductor fab line goes down, revenue evaporates at a rate that humbles every other industry. Intel's most advanced fabs estimate loss-per-hour at $1–3M. TSMC and Samsung leading-edge nodes push past $10M. Unplanned downtime is not a cost line — it is the cost line.
